The 1969 Santa Barbara Oil Spill sent shock waves around the world, inspiring the creation of Earth Day, the Environmental Protection Agency (plus state and national environmental laws and policies), UCSB's Environmental Studies Department, and many organizations dedicated to protecting living creatures, land, air and water, including the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade, formed to help those affected by the Thomas Fire Debris Flow. We consider how love for community, people and nature connects, strengthens and unites people into a powerful, resilient force for the common good.

We hope to have the honor of having our World Premiere at the 2019 Santa Barbara Film Festival to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Santa Barbara Oil Spill, the 49th anniversary of the Santa Barbara Declaration of Environmental Rights, and the 1st anniversary of the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade.

You're invited to contribute and participate!

This film is a love letter to Santa Barbara and we hope you help us finish it! Reflecting the spirit of our community and the incredible people behind all of our local non-profit organizations, this is a history lesson for our children and a reminder of the power of working together. Sponsorship before November 2, 2018 will receive film credit
