Rob, Kristen and Russ. Kristen, four years old, was first adopted in Nashville, Tenessee, by private agreement by Russ. When they moved to California, he had to go through the adoption process all over again. Jack, Christian, Elizabeth and John (clockwise from top right). John is the blood father of the kids, via artificial insemination and the help of a friend who helps raise the children. Christian, John's partner, fits right into the family; they kids adore him.

Ann, Elaine, Dan and Noah (clockwise from top left). Ann is the mother of both kids thanks to artificial insemination. They are both legal coparents, although this is not possible in every single state.

Daddy Dan, Poppy Kevin and Sarah (left to right). Dan and Kevin met when they became Jesuit priests. Several years later they decided to leave the order because they each wanted a family. Then they adopted Sarah together through an adoption service. They were both present at the birth. Dan and Kevin are still very involved with the church. Sarah goes to a Catholic school and they all go to mass each Sunday.

Kevin: "More than worrying about having gay parents she has to worry about having two therapists."
